This work is a date to a manifestation that was held in the Memphis Sanatation Strike

“I AM A MAN” in 1968. The protesters were fighting for their civil rights; it was an independency declaration against the oppression and racism, and I wondered, where were the women at that time? I guess at home working, for me, this was quite a sexist struggle.

Well into 2015 I propose a strike to masculinity because it is not enough to keep repeating the heteropatriarchal scheme, let´s transform this scheme, but as long as the masculinity does not let go of their privileges, we can´t continue moving forward in the transfeminism, that is why I question in the streets of Tijuana´s tolerance zone where prostitution is practiced from dusk until dawn without any issues although it is not legal in Mexico but nevertheless these privileged spaces exists for masculinity and that is why I stroll around with my transsexual friend with placards that state: Strike on man!

Este trabajo es una cita a una manifestación  que se hizo en Memphis Sanitation Strike

"I AM A MAN!" en 1968. Los manifestantes  estaban luchando por sus derechos civiles, era   una declaración de independencia en contra de la opresion y el racismo y me pregunte en donde estaban las mujeres en ese momento? Supongo que estaban en casa trabajando, para mi esta demostracion  fue una lucha bastante sexista.

En pleno 2015 propongo hacer una huelga a la masculinidad porque ya  no es suficiente seguir repitiendo el esquema heteropatriarcal, hay que transformar ese esquema y mientras la masculinidd no deje sus privilegios no podemos seguir avanzando  en el  transfeminismo, por eso interpelo en la calle en la zona de tolerancia de Tijuana donde se ejerce la prostitucion sin problemas dia y noche apezar de que no es legal en México el trabajo sexual pero  existen estos espacios privilegiado para la masculinidad y es por eso que me paseo con mi amiga transexual  con pancartas que dicen Strike on Man!.
