Anti-Futurismo Cimarrón

Bajo la curandería* de Yuderkys Espinosa-Miñoso y Katia Sepúlveda, invita a un grupo de artistas activistas y comunitarios, individuales y colectivos, previamente seleccionados, a ser parte de un proceso de creación colectiva a partir de reflexionar, desde sus experiencias y distintos lugares enunciativos, una serie de textos y contextos que anuncian con esperanza la desaparición de Europa y su proyecto de mundo basado en el ego conquiro.

El proceso completo implica un seminario/laboratorio teórico-práctico de un año de duración, con sesiones virtuales una vez al mes en las que reflexionaremos, debatiremos e imaginaremos a partir de las preguntas: ¿Cómo sería el mundo si Europa (como tropo) desapareciera? ¿Cómo sería si nunca hubiera existido? ¿Cómo ha sido vivido el tiempo fuera del tiempo histórico de la modernidad europea?

Para ello nos ayudaremos de una serie de textos y obras creativas previamente seleccionadas, pero también de los aportes que el contexto y la experiencia vivida de cada participante-creador(a) traigan al espacio colectivo, siendo la metodología lo suficientemente abierta al acontecimiento y a la sorpresa. Nos proponemos hacer de las reuniones de trabajo un espacio de encuentro, de reconocimiento y de pensar en relación.

A la vez que se realizan estos encuentros les artistas participantes irán pensando, sintiendo, imaginando, experimentando y produciendo una obra propia, y contribuyendo a crear una obra colectiva que será resultado de todo el proceso de acompañamiento y conversación. Así, cada sesión de trabajo será un laboratorio creativo donde les artistas compartirán y se acompañarán en las diferentes etapas de proyección y creación de sus obras y de la obra colectiva. La metodología de cada encuentro incluye ejercicios de sintonización energética, lectura y discusión grupal, y ejercicios creativos, así como de experimentación de otro lenguaje además del escrito.

Este proyecto expositivo y de investigación es una coproducción de La Virreina Centre de la Imatge y Arts Santa Mònica.

* Usamos el concepto de "curanderismo" en sintonía con la idea de Gloria Anzaldúa quien, retomando la tradición espiritual del pueblo azteca, ve el campo artístico como un proceso creativo creador de realidad que al igual que el chamán o curandero sirve para sanar la herida colonial y de esta forma a los fines de la descolonización.

With the curandería* of Yuderkys Espinosa-Miñoso and Katia Sepúlveda, invites a group of previously selected individual and collective activist and community artists to be part of a process of collective creation based on using their experiences and enunciative positions to reflect on a series of texts and contexts that hopefully announce the disappearance of Europe and its world project based on the conquer ego.

The entire process involves a year-long theoretical and practical seminar/laboratory with virtual sessions once a month in which we will reflect, debate and imagine based on the questions What would the world be like if Europe (as a trope) disappeared? What would it be like if it had never existed? How has time been experienced outside the historical time of European modernity?

For this we will use a series of previously selected texts and creative works, in addition to the contributions that the context and experience of each participant/creator bring to the collective space. The methodology is sufficiently open to events and to surprise. We propose to make work meetings a space for encounter, recognition and thinking in mutual relation.

At the same time as these meetings are held, the participating artists will be thinking, feeling, imagining, experimenting and producing their own work and helping to create a collective work that will be the result of the entire process of accompaniment and conversation. Each work session will thus be a creative laboratory in which artists will share and accompany each other in the different stages of design and creation of their works and of the collective work. The methodology of each meeting includes exercises in energy attunement, group reading and discussion, creative exercises and exercises of experimentation with another language in addition to writing.

*We use the concept “curanderismo” in line with the idea of Gloria Anzaldúa, who takes up the spiritual tradition of the Aztec people, seeing art as a process that creates a reality that, like the shaman or healer, heals the colonial wound and therefore serves the purposes of decolonization.
